The SUM (Seamless Shared Urban Mobility) project is on a mission to transform current mobility networks into innovative shared mobility systems integrated with public transport across Europe. And now, SUM is inviting cities to become part of this groundbreaking initiative through an Open Call for Observer Cities.

The call is open until 29 March and gives the opportunity to European cities that are part of the CIVITAS Initiative to learn and share missions and visions with the SUM project experts and Living Labs.

The SUM project objectives:

The objective of SUM is to transform current mobility networks towards New and Shared Mobility Systems (NSM) integrated with public transport (PT) in more than 15 European Cities by 2026 reaching 30 by 2030. Intermodality, interconnectivity, sustainability, safety, and resilience are at the core of this innovation.

The call for Observer Cities:

The goal is to expand the positive effects of the project to other cities in Europe. Cities can benefit from first-hand experience, and help SUM develop and expand its expertise. SUM is looking to engage with 3 additional European cities.

Eligibility:

The applying potential Observer City needs to be a member of the CIVITAS Network, have a Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (SUMP), and be committed to sustainability.

Expectations:

As an Observer City, it will be possible to contribute to raising the profile of the SUM project, participate in annual meetings, visit Living Labs, and provide data to support the development of SUM’s Pan-European Open Data platform.
