The city of Riga will receive a bulk of significant funds from an EU financing programme to help promote environmentally friendly public transport and boost the number of travellers on public transport.

The EU’s Cohesion Fund recently awarded Latvia’s Central Finance and Contracting Agency € 96 million in response to a number of applications for funding for tram infrastructure in Riga, Daugavpils and Liepaja.
