Today, ERTICO-ITS Europe in collaboration with the City of Hamburg and the regions of ITS Americas and ITS Asia Pacific announces the launch of a series of eight webinars that will drive momentum for the ITS World Congress, highlighting key themes in mobility and offering the latest information on Congress content, scheduling and organisation. The series will showcase ERTICO- ITS Europe’s work in projects and platforms in smart mobility and present activities in the ITS sector, shining a light on the city of Hamburg as an important port city, but also giving a global perspective with input from speakers from Europe, America and the Asia Pacific region.
The first webinar of Solutions for Cities and Citizens will address the goal of seamless mobility for all, including by means of a shared approach, and ITS applications that are beneficial for the environment and that bring us closer to equitable mobility, highlighted by input from ERTICO’s work on the topic. This webinar will give a taster of the expected real-life benefits of safety, environment and transport efficiency, which will be explored through various panel discussions, presentations and exhibitions during the Hamburg Congress. Guests include Jacob Bangsgaard, ERTICO -ITS Europe CEO, Anjes Tjarks, Senator for Transport and Mobility Transition, from the City of Hamburg and Nils Schmidt, Vice President Intelligent Traffic Management Systems, Siemens Mobility GmbH.

The webinars will address the six themes of the Congress: Cooperative, Connected and Automated, Mobility; Mobility as a Service and Mobility on Demand; Goods journey from Ports to Customers; Intelligent Infrastructure; New Services from New Technologies and the first webinar: Solutions for Cities and Citizens. There will also be two further webinars that will present the programme and tackle the more practical sides of participating in the Congress. As the series explores these topics in-depth, ERTICO’s work in the deployment of new technologies and in-depth knowledge gained from such initiatives as the ERTICO City Moonshot and EU funded projects including SOLUTIONS Plus, 5G-MOBIX, SHOW, MODALES, to name just a few, will be presented by those directly involved.
For the Congress, the webinars offer a trailer of things to come such as the stimulating Programme, the Start-up showcase and numerous demonstrations and tours taking place in the city. It represents an ideal opportunity to profile Congress Partners and to keep the ITS Community informed and engaged on our journey towards this spectacular face-to-face event in October.
