“Our data. Your ideas.” The award ceremony of the first BMVI DATA-RUN, the first government hackathon hosted by Germany’s Federal Minister of Transport and Digital Infrastructure Alexander Dobrindt, took place on 14 November 2015. The laureates are given the opportunity to receive funding from the BMVI’s modernity fund. This fund is part of the Federal Government’s digital agenda and designed to promote data-based digital developments and thereby further foster the start-up spirit in Germany.
Dobrindt said: “The participants of the first BMVI DATA-RUN demonstrated in 24 hours how they can turn our mobility, geographical and weather data into exciting digital innovations. I am convinced that together we have made a contribution to digital wealth creation and a new data culture in Germany. I congratulate all the winners and thank the jury and data experts for their commitment.”
