Can DATEX II help meeting the challenges of the ITS Directive?
What are the pros and cons of using DATEX II? How to make a national extension?
How is parking information supported?
If you pose yourself such questions or if you have the answers to such questions, you should definitely attend:
3rd DATEX User Forum on the 19th and 20th May, 2014, Prague, the Czech Republic
The event will be a perfect opportunity to develop and update your expertise and to link with the growing community, also influencing the way ahead. Apart from the experienced and more technical users, we explicitly invite ‘new’ users at a management level to join this User Forum. You will be informed on the pros and cons of DATEX II, how to make thebest use of DATEX II, how to fulfil the obligations of the ITS Directive by using DATEX II. There will be ample room for direct conversations with managers from national road authorities, European Commission and other stakeholders. For the more experienced and technical users, the programme offers lots of possibilities to discuss the DATEX II state of the art, its many applications and its impact on the efficiency of traffic management and travel information.
The DATEX User Forum is designed to go beyond a mere presentation/listening format and strives to elicit the views of all community members. The successful technical hands-on workshop of the 2nd User Forum in Stockholm – where participants were instructed how to work with DATEX’ model profiling and extension tools – will be continued and even extended to include a comprehensive tour through the vast DATEX II data model.
The main theme of the DATEX User Forum is going to be “Parking” – a really up-to-date topic given the recently published EC regulation on Truck Parking and also the growing use of DATEX in urban environments. Other issues will be: national points of access, quality and certification, weather related information, TMPs, urban nodes, cyber security, ITS Directive, deployment feedback, exchange /protocols.
The event is hosted in common by the Czech Technical University in Prague, Faculty of Transportation Sciences and the Dutch Rijkswaterstaat /Ministry of Infrastructure and the Environment. Event is also supported by ITS&S, the national ITS association active in the Czech and Slovak Republics.
The event is held in the National Library of Technology in Prague, Czech Republic. In the evening of the 19th a convivial meeting and dinner in an amicable atmosphere will give opportunity to deepen existing contacts and establish new ones.
