European Commission BU25 / S09, Avenue de Beaulieu 25, 1160 Auderghem, Brussels10 July 2014 09:00 – 13:00 The 79 GHz Final Workshop will present an overview of the achievements of the 79 GHz Project over the past years at global level. The 79 GHz project aims to establish and speed up the worldwide harmonised frequency allocation for vehicular radars in the frequency range 77 GHz to 81 GHz (79 GHz).
The speakers at the Workshop will illustrate the current worldwide status of 79 GHz frequency allocation and the activities in preparation to the World Radio Conference 2015 relevant for the 79GHz allocation. Finally, a technology roadmap for Short Range Radar (SSR) will be discussed focusing on the requirements for future automotive radar based safety and comfort functions. These functions include pedestrian protection, narrow pass assistance, and proximity warning up to fully autonomous driving.
