The city of Dublin has opened a new commuter rail line following the completion of a major upgrade project.
The new cross-city passenger service, launched on Monday, runs on an existing 139-year-old line that was formerly only used by freight trains and empty passenger trains.
The new line provides travellers with a direct connection between the central business district, and stations in south-west Dublin and north Kildare.
