Murcia (Spain), Östersund (Sweden) and Vienna (Austria) reached the last stage of the EMW Award, while Bremen (Germany), Dresden (Germany), and Ghent (Belgium) will compete for the SUMP Award.
The winners will be announced at a ceremony on 23 March 2015 in Brussels (Belgium).
The EMW Award winner will receive a professionally produced video that showcases the city’s sustainable mobility achievements; while the SUMP Award winning city will take home € 10 000 to further promote their SUMP. T
he EMW Award rewards the local authority judged to have done the most in raising public awareness of sustainable mobility issues and implementing measures to achieve a shift towards sustainable urban transport.
The annual SUMP Award is presented to cities and regions that show excellence in developing and implementing their SUMPs, and focuses on a different theme each year. For this year’s award, the focus was on ‘monitoring implementation to improve SUMPs’.
