AustriaTech – Federal Agency for Technological Measures Ltd. announced the appointment of Martin Russ as new Managing Director. His primary responsibility will be to ensure the company´s success on a national and international level. Prior to joining the company Russ managed the research and development agendas in the Austrian Ministry of Transport Innovation and Technology for the last three years and worked in the field of traffic and transport deployment and development for twelve years. As Managing Director Martin Russ will be responsible for the business unit Telematics.

Reinhard Pfliegl who was Managing Director of AustriaTech since its founding in 2005 will continue his work at AustriaTech as chair of the ITS World Congress 2012 taking place in Vienna. In the next two years he will coordinate on behalf of the bmvit the local organization of the most important conference and exhibition of the telematics industry in the world.
The business unit Technology Transfer will still be led by Roland Dietrich.
