Five thousand votes received for the first-round of the 2012 ITS Video Competition
As the first-round of voting has closed in the 2012 ITS video competition we would like to thank everyone who took the time to enter.
We have been overwhelmed with the quality and quantity of entrants in this year’s competition and more than five thousand votes were submitted during four days of public voting. The videos highlight many of the fascinating projects products and services that are currently underway in the ITS industry and the production work demonstrates the high level of imagination and artistic talent that is being employed.
From over fifty entrants the eight highest scoring videos in each category have been shortlisted and will now be judged by a panel of ITS Experts.
Those two categories/shortlists are:
Videos aimed at the general public Shortlist Two:
Videos aimed at the ITS Community
Xerox. Dynamic pricing makes parking simple
TomTom HD Traffic: the best traffic information
Ibeo – Passion for Scanning
Nextcity — Making the Vision of Intelligent Travel a Reality
NEWADA (Network of Danube Waterway Administrations
Welcome to the connected society! (Volvo Group)
Autotalks – world’s first vehicle-to-vehicle communication VLSI
RISING – River Information Services for Transport & Logistics
The expert judges now have the extremely difficult task of choosing the best three videos in each category and these finalists will then take part in a live competition during the VIP dinner at this year’s ITS World Congress in Vienna.
Once again we would like to thank all the entrants for their submissions and we hope you will all take part again in next year’s competition.
The three finalists in each category will be announced after 27 September and all of the videos submitted to this year’s competition will be on permanent display at the ERTICO stand (D30) during the ITS World Congress in Vienna. If you haven’t already done so you may also view them online here.
The 2012 ITS Video Competition follows on from the success of the inaugural 2011 Video Competition culminating at the European ITS Congress in Lyon. The winner was “Young Thoughts on Future Travel” by the Stockholm City Traffic Administration.
