ERTICO’s Annual Review of the past year is now out. The publication summarises the activities and milestones from June 2022 to May 2023. ‘Connecting the Dots’ continues to remain a key motto as we strengthen our Partnership and build new bridges with leading organisations across all continents and sectors.

“In my second year as CEO of ERTICO, I have the honour of presenting our 2023 report on behalf of ERTICO and our Partners. I am proud to enhance how we work, integrating key priorities through a holistic and more horizontal approach, reflecting emerging challenges and new opportunities in mobility. As an agent of inspiration, ERTICO holds a unique position in our sector, bringing together public and private stakeholders to shape and deliver policy across all areas. In other words, connecting the dots,” says ERTICO CEO, Joost Vantomme, in his introduction to the review.

The Annual Review presents details on ERTICO’s Vision 2035 across four Focus Areas: Connected, Cooperative & Automated Mobility (CCAM), Clean & Eco-Mobility, Urban Mobility and Transport & Logistics. It includes information on EU-funded projects that ERTICO develops and implements with its Partners, in addition to Innovation Platforms, Mobility Data Spaces and ERTICO-led initiatives such as the ERTICO Academy and City Moonshot. The unique ITS Congresses are also covered in the Review, with key highlights from the 2022 28th ITS World Congress in Los Angeles and the 2023 15th ITS European Congress in Lisbon.

The ERTICO Partnership continues to grow, attracting actors from the mobility and digital arena who are interested in keeping pace with the transport industry’s digital transformation. In 2022, we relaunched the ERTICO FOCUS ON Partnership events to leverage the exchange of knowledge and expertise while exploring trends and challenges with our Partners. We also extended our cooperation network and active stakeholder engagement throughout the year. This included new strategic partnerships but also amplifying existing collaborations, for example, with the network of National ITS organisations (ITS Nationals).

Last year, ERTICO introduced five new values that mirror the team and the joint effort to strengthen connections and enable positive transformations for future mobility with our Partners. CEO Joost Vantomme comments, “An organisation like ours is nothing without its people, without the team. I am proud to be at the helm of this unique organisation with a team that shares true dedication, ambition and drive to deliver on our promise to deploy smart and sustainable mobility across Europe and beyond. This ethos will propel ERTICO throughout 2023 and beyond with strength and optimism for tomorrow’s challenges.”

In the second half of 2023, ERTICO will continue to work on previous priorities while actively focusing on engaging in fruitful dialogues with other European and international organisations for the future of ITS. Making mobility safer, more efficient and sustainable will remain the ERTICO Vision. Bridging the gaps between public and private sectors is at the very heart of what ERTICO does. Together with our Partners, we develop, promote and facilitate the deployment of intelligent mobility services by providing a multi-stakeholder platform for action.

The Annual Review was released following the 33rd General Assembly held on Tuesday 13 June. During the meeting, the ‘ERTICO in Review’ video was also shown to the ERTICO Partnership and its shareholders for the first time. Watch the full video here to learn more about our activities.
