It is now time to make CCAM – Cooperative, Connected and Automated Mobility – a reality together. To do so, the European Commission intends to establish a new European Partnership on Cooperative, Connected and Automated Mobility (CCAM) under Horizon Europe. The Partnership aims to align better public and private efforts through a common and long-term R&I agenda, and to accelerate the implementation of smart, innovative and sustainable mobility solutions for all.

The EUCAD Conference is organised in this context; held virtually from 20-22 April 2021, it is a high-level and evidence-based event and the only conference in Europe that brings together political leaders from the European Commission and Member States with leaders of the industry, knowledge institutes and road authorities. Co-organised by the European Commission and the ARCADE Project, coordinated by ERTICO, EUCAD 2021 will look at the most recent technological developments and policies in the area of CCAM.

The registration for this online event is free and open!

Participants will enjoy a blend of policy-oriented plenary sessions, as well as thematic breakout sessions to discuss specific R&I challenges. A virtual exhibition of exciting and interesting projects will be accessible throughout the three-day event. The last EUCAD Conference in 2019 attracted nearly 700 participants from the EU (24 Member States present) and other parts of the World (13 countries) as well as more than 7000 viewers via web stream.

ARCADE is an EC-funded Support Action working towards cooperation and consensus building between stakeholders and R&I initiatives on a common approach to development and testing of CCAM in Europe. ARCADE federates a CAD Stakeholder Network through the organisation of regular workshops and co-organisation, with the European Commission, of EUCAD Conferences and Symposia. The CAD network exchanges knowledge and experiences, builds up synergies and a common approach to development, testing, and validation of CAD. A main objective is to contribute to the definition of future research and innovation priorities in Europe for the main thematic areas related to the deployment and adoption of CAD (e.g. STRIA and ERTRAC Roadmaps on Connected and Automated Transport). ARCADE also consolidates an online Knowledge Base of CAD knowhow, including an overview of impact assessment, testing and evaluation methodologies, regulations, policies and standards, roadmaps and strategic plans at European, Member State and even international levels.
