Athens is planning to roll out electric ticketing for the city’s public transport this autumn, according to the Athens Urban Transport Organisation (OSCE).

The president of the OSCE, Tasos Tastanis, said that the electronic ticket project is in the second of three phases of implementation, and that the pilot will commence in September.

Speaking to the Athens-Macedonian News Agency, Tastanis said that the OSCE has already conducted preparatory studies and that buses have installed the necessary equipment to support the technology.
