The city council the capital of Wales is considering the application of congestion charges to improve the city’s air quality. After being given the directive from the Welsh Government to clean the city’s air, the Council of Cardiff has to put forward a solution by September 2018.
Cabinet member Caro Wild was positive, stating that major cities around the world which have adopted similar measures have not suffered from negative consequences. A consultation has already been launched, counting on 18 different proposals to tackle the air pollution problem.
