The CO-GISTICS project has green-lit the deployment of the cooperative services Priority and Speed Advice, CO2 Estimation and Cargo Transport Optimisation in Bordeaux.
These services have been up and running since July 2016 and integrated in a unique android app which aims to reduce delivery times and lower CO2 emissions. These services are based on two products – Noscifel and GLOSA (Green Light Optimal Speed Advisory).
Thanks to the support of four transport companies, 30 different vehicles have been provided for this pilot. So far there have been 2,396 hours of driving logged and calculated over 431 trips. Data is collected by FMS equipment measuring fuel consumption and an android device using the CO-GISTICS application, sent to the project evaluation databases and integrated in real time.
In November 2016, the Bordeaux pilot site moved onto the operational phase which allows drivers to access the CO-GISTICS functionalities on the android app. Results show there was considerable interest from the drivers, suggesting that C-ITS services are considered useful in the transportation of goods.
