The first EU conference on Connected and Automated Driving took place in Brussels on 3-4 April. The high-level conference was attended by major road transport stakeholders – automotive and telecom industry, users, road operators, public transport operators, regulators, research centres, universities and representatives of both EC and EU Member States.
The event was a unique opportunity for participants to network and to discuss ways to boost the development and deployment of connected and automated driving technologies from a fourfold perspective: transport policy issues, technological challenges, legal and regulatory frame, and digital transformation.
During a technical breakout session, TN-ITS president Stephen T’Siobbel elaborated upon the role of a TN-ITS data exchange infrastructure as an important part in a wider approach to keeping map databases up-to-date.
