The CONCORDA project was selected in September 2018 by the European Union to be part of a group of nominated EU funded projects with relevant international activities in C-ITS services.
With relevance to C-ITS, CONCORDA will contribute to the explicit development of “hybrid communication” which implies having the option of using 3GPP cellular communication technology (in this context “3GPP cellular” refers to communication over the Uu-interface, not sidelink communication over the PC5-interface) and/or short-range communication technology. The scope of CONCORDA goes beyond just defining the profiles for cellular communication that can be used in addition to the ones already available or being created for short-range communication technologies. The goal of the project is to also ensure seamless integration and interoperability of long-range and short-range communication technologies.
In this context “3GPP cellular” refers to communication over the Uu-interface, not sidelink communication over the PC5-interface.
