The international road transport community gathered at the Logistics and Innovation Solutions event this Thursday, 12 April 2018 in Amsterdam, to learn about the most recent requirements on transport operations from major shippers and e-commerce platforms. The forum, the first of its kind, was organised by IRU, one of AEOLIX partners working on the exploitation and business opportunities of the project.
One of the key topics discussed was the digitalisation of the logistics sector. As revealed by Zeljko Jeftic, Global Head of Innovation at IRU, 65% of European transport operators plan to invest in digital solutions in the coming six months, to prepare for a digital future.
Lina Konstantinopoulou, Head of Transport and Logistics Department, Innovation and Deployment at ERTICO-ITS Europe, presented the AEOLIX data sharing network for end-to-end visibility in the supply chain.
“The key message for today was that we have too many platforms and digital solutions out there. We need to have a common trusted data network that can really satisfy different IT solutions, different data formats, and we need to make sure that it involves both private and public industry” said Lina Konstantinopoulou in a short vlog for RHA News.
