ERTICO-ITS Europe is riding the wave of Artificial Intelligence (AI), 5G, IoT technologies, blockchain and one of our flagship projects is a perfect example of the current tendency. We’re talking about 5G-LOGINNOV whose vision is to optimise freight and traffic operations at ports and logistic hubs.
Here, the technological solution lies in implementing innovative concepts, applications and devices supported by 5G technologies, Internet of Things (IoT), data analytics, next-generation traffic management, Cooperative, Connected and Automated Mobility (CCAM) and the 5G logistics corridor. These tailored innovations entail the automation of ports, generation of data on floating trucks and emissions, automated truck platooning and involvement of high-tech SMEs. Moving to real-operating conditions, 5G technologies have been implemented and tested in Living Labs at three 5G-LOGINNOV ports, namely Luka Koper (Slovenia), Athens (Greece) and Hamburg (Germany).
