On the initiative of France, the formal opening of the 22nd World ITS Congress was preceded by a ministers’ roundtable. The event focused on “Prospects for ITS development for the environment and climate protection”.
It was organised by the French Ministry of Transport with the support of ERTICO –ITS Europe, ITS Asia-Pacific, ITS America, ATEC-ITS France and TOPOS Aquitaine.
The conference was chaired by Alain Vidalies – secrétaire d’Etat en charge des Transports, de la Mer et de la Pêche- and Violeta Bulc – European Commissioner for Transport.
28 countries attended the roundtable. The debates have been followed, from an adjacent audience room, by a restricted audience including representatives from the country ITS organizations.
