In occasion of the 25th ITS World Congress, ERTICO launched the Vision Paper on MaaS (Mobility as a Service).
This paper outlines ERTICO’s vision for Mobility as a Service by 2030, focusing on the benefits of MaaS, the developments of a market for Mobility as a Service and the challenges and policy recommendations to promote MaaS. In particular, the paper highlights the need for access to data for better mobility, the interoperability of services, a connected, automated, service-based and electric ecosystem and a public-private partnership to foster the development of MaaS.
“Mobility as a Service has been such a success in Europe and beyond because people want smarter and more customised mobility solutions” said Jacob Bangsgaard, CEO of ERTICO – ITS Europe and the President of the MaaS Alliance.
And it is because of this increased interest that ERTICO presents in its paper its key role as supporter for the transformation of the industry by being the leading visionary and executive partner, advocating the development and adoption of Mobility as a Service by actively harnessing progress in connected and automated transport and exploring the wider potential of MaaS in Europe and at a global level.
ERTICO is also proud to announce the establishment of a Partnership between the MaaS Alliance and ITS America.
“ITS America is thrilled to bring together the public and private sector partners that are shaping the future of Mobility as a Service,” said Shailen Bhatt, President and CEO of ITS America. “In addition to helping people figure out the most cost and time effective way to get around, we will collectively create smarter, more livable communities in which traffic flows more easily.”
