Six of the ERTICO partnership projects are selected to be presented at the Europen Conference Results from Road Transport Research in H2020 projects to be held in Brussels on 29th and 30th March 2022.

The European Conference is being organised as a physical event by the European Commission, ECTRI, the CCAM PPP and the 2Zero PPP to discuss results of H2020 funded projects on road transport related areas of Green Vehicles, Urban Mobility, Logistics, Intelligent Transport Systems, Safety, and Automated Road Transport. With a strong focus on scientific achievements, the selected projects will be presented to provide a picture of the achievements of EU funded research. They contribute to identifying the next steps needed to reach the overall EU transport policy objectives and to bring benefits to the environment, economy, and European society overall. On Tuesday 29 March, two of ERTICO’s partnership projects, ICT4CART and SOLUTIONSPlus will be presented during the ICT infrastructure for road transport session. The ICT4CART project falls within one of ERTICO’s focus areas ‘Connected, Cooperative and Automated Mobility’ (CCAM) and aims to provide an ICT infrastructure to enable the transition towards road transport automation. The main goal of the project was to design, implement and test a versatile ICT infrastructure that enables the shift towards higher levels of automation in real-life conditions. SOLUTIONSPlus is a flagship project to support the sustainable electrification of road transport in large urban areas across Europe, Asia, Africa and Latin America. It establishes a global platform for sharing, public and commercial e-mobility solutions to kick-start the transition towards low carbon urban mobility

On Wednesday 30 March, one of our flagship projects, MODALES, will be discussed during the session on ‘Understanding and reducing harmful emissions for human’. As part of the focus area on Clean and Eco Mobility, the MODALES project aims to reduce air pollution from all types of road vehicles by encouraging the adoption of low-emission driving behaviour and appropriate maintenance. The project focuses on emissions from the powertrain, brake wear and tyre wear, exploring innovative and complementary solutions to reduce them. On the same day, two of ERTICO’s projects, ENSEMBLE and HEADSTART will be featured during the session on ‘Introducing Connected Automated Mobility in Real Traffic Conditions’. ENSEMBLE aims to achieve the next step towards deploying multi-brand truck platooning in Europe and has demonstrated this under real-life traffic conditions and provided specifications at the tactical layer for both levels of platooning-support level and autonomous level. The HEADSTART project defines testing and validation procedures of Connected and Automated Driving functions, including enabling technologies such as communications, cyber security and positioning.
