Mobility is essential for the EU’s society and economy and plays an important role in connecting people and businesses, but also in achieving sustainable development. The pandemic confirmed the essential role of transport, but it also demonstrated the need for systemic transformation of our economy, based on principles of sustainability, digitalization, and resilience.

Transport must decarbonise and improve its sustainability, in line with the 2050 climate neutrality target; however, this evolution should leave no one behind: it is crucial that mobility remains available and affordable for all.

The Forum for Mobility and Society, of which FIA – Federation Internationale de l’Automobile, holds the Secretariat, is organising a webinar Smart and Sustainable Mobility Strategy on 13 April 2021 at 10.30-12.30 CET.

In this webinar, some of the aspects of this wide subject will be explored, such as: what the Smart and Sustainable Mobility Strategy is and why it matters and how can mobility contribute to a Green and Digital Recovery.

The existing challenges in mobility will also be discussed: alternative fuels: Infrastructure, consumer preference and regulatory framework, stricter CO2 reduction targets and energy taxation: drivers for greener mobility, digitalizing transport: what is needed to enable multimodality in urban mobility.
