An assessment of research projects in the TRIMIS database revealed that a total of EUR 450 million had been invested in research on transport infrastructure under Horizon 2020 (H2020), the biggest EU Research and Innovation programme. Of this amount, EUR 302 million was in the form of research grants. Figure 1 shows H2020 funding by transport mode and EU Member State. French and German organisations are well represented in this research field. While most projects address aspects of infrastructure resilience, only one project focuses fully on this topic.
