This proposal will review the rules that offer EU companies unrestricted access to the market for inland waterway transport in every EU country. It will evaluate several pieces of legislation adopted in the 1960s-1990s to progressively create a single, integrated market in this sector across the bloc. And it will assess whether these EU rules are still suitable for the sector as it is today, and enable it to operate as a single market.
The European Commission is collecting feedback until 8 August 2019.
