364052-1Huawei has announced that its SmartPCC solution has won the “Best Traffic Management Solution” award at the Policy Control Forum 2015 held in Berlin, Germany. The award represents Huawei’s achievements in the traffic management and Policy and Charging Control (PCC) field.

“Huawei is honored that its SmartPCC solution has won the “Best Traffic Management Solution” award” said Wang Songtao, President, Convergent Data Core Network Product Line, Huawei. “In the mobile broadband era, carriers face the challenge of delivering a valuable service and enhancing the subscriber experience, whilst converting increasing traffic into revenue. The Huawei traffic management solution offers real-time insights into networks and services. Through big data analysis, the solution can adjust and optimize policies, resulting in maximum network efficiency and subscriber experience.”

Over the next five years, the number of LTE subscribers is projected to increase by an average of 45 percent a year, whilst data traffic is estimated to double annually. In order to keep up with demand, carriers are challenged with refining their mobile broadband (MBB) operations. The Huawei SmartPCC solution manages these challenges through its intelligent policy control center. The center collects and analyzes network information in real-time, and optimizes and enforces policies for closed-loop implementation. This automatic mechanism increases the value of traffic, enhances the subscriber experience, and improves network efficiency. The Huawei SmartPCC focuses on unified policy control and has become a key player for MBB policy insight.

The SmartPCC solution provides carriers with per service per user (PSPU) analysis and insight, real-time network and service status awareness. It is also able to reduce the service time-to-market from two months, to just two weeks. The judges at the Policy Control Forum acknowledged these benefits when presenting Huawei with the award.

The Huawei SmartPCC has been widely adopted throughout the industry over the past few years, represented by the product market share. At the end of 2014, the Huawei SmartPCC served 515 million broadband subscribers through 213 carriers. Of these, 22 are top 30 global, tier-1 carriers.
