The kick-off meeting for the I_HeERO Project is taking place today 25 September 2015 in Berlin, Germany. The I_HeERO Project is funded through the Connected Europe Fund project (Annual Program). I_HeERO brings together 61 partners from 12 Member States (PSAPs), with the purpose of upgrading Member State Public Safety Answering Points to be ready to receive eCall emergency calls. In addition, the project will develop advanced eCall for Truck Long Distance Coaches, Powered two wheels vehicles, Data integration and looks towards the next generation of eCall.
The I_HeERO project draws directly from the results of the HeERO projects and adds value to the work already undertaken to achieve the mandated deployment of eCall based on 112 for Member State PSAPs by 1 October 2016. After 31 March 2018, all cars and light trucks are mandated to be fitted with eCall based on 112.
The project commenced on 1 January 2015 and will conclude on 31 December 2017.
The I_HeERO project is lead by the Niedersachsen Government Ministerium für Wirtschaft, Arbeit und Verkehr.
ERTICO will contribute to the project by providing the technical implementation through its expertise in the previous HeERO projects. It will also contribute technical guidance on conformity assessment for eCall and will facilitate all dissemination activities.
