EAVP member is driving innovation in smart vehicle manufacturing: The E-Self Project

EAVP member Kopernikus Automotive is pushing the boundaries of autonomous vehicles, not just on the road, but now in the factory. In collaboration with Ford and the Institute of Automotive Engineering of Technische Universität Braunschweig, they have been working on the E-Self project, testing self-driving electric vehicles within the production process. DfT UK receives £1.8 million boost for innovation to decarbonise freight

Roads Minister Guy Opperman is launching the third year of the £7 million Freight Innovation Fund Accelerator to deliver innovative tech across the industry to decarbonise freight and boost the UK supply chain as part of the government’s plan to grow the economy. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) can receive up to £1.8 million in government funding to support the freight sector in deploying cutting-edge AI technology and automation to improve the way trains, lorries, vans, and ships carry parcels and goods. EU transport 5 years: Key achievements and highlights 2019-2024

The agenda for the 2019-2024 mandate was set by the Commission’s adoption of the European Green Deal in December 2019. It tasked the EU with cutting transport emissions by 90% by 2050. Numerous legislative proposals have followed, putting the EU on a path to that target. However, sustainability was not the sole focus of this mandate.
