Two innovative new trolleybuses that have special batteries allowing them to enter areas without overhead wires have arrived in the Polish seaside city of Gdynia.
The buses, produced by Polish vehicle manufacturer Solaris, were delievered to Gdynia’s trolleybus operator PKT and are equipped with an alternative power supply in the form of lithium-ion batteries.
This will allow them to run automously without the traction network for distances of up to 15 kilometres.
