One of the most anticipated activities of ITS Europe Congress 2022 lived up to expectations when UK- based start-up enterprise Angoka earned the Top Start-up Award and the Technology Innovation Award in Toulouse at the ERTICO Start-up Pitching Contest last week. Angoka uses Internet of Things (IoT) technology to secure communication between devices necessary for smart mobility.
The Market Innovation Award went to Asimob for their road safety and accident prevention technology and MOBIQU earned the Product Service Innovation Award for its multi-purpose, last-mile, climate-controlled delivery box.
The pitching contest attracted a large audience interested in learning more about the innovative enterprise ideas presented by the winners as well as the other six finalists: CITio, Auvetech, Nexterite, IoT Baseplate, ngenius.ai, and Neovya. Each start-up presented a five-minute individual presentation on their product, technology or service, had the opportunity to answer questions from the judges, and was challenged to a lightning question round in which each contestant had only 20 seconds to answer key questions like, “What could cause your enterprise to fail?”
Special thanks go to the expert judging panel comprised of Vincent Cabanel, Business Intelligence Officer at Via ID-Mobivia, Zeinah Mugdadi, EU Public Policy Senior Associate at Uber, and Gino Franco, Business and Sales Development Executive at Swarco.
All three enterprises were honoured at an awards ceremony that took place at the ERTICO stand on the second day of the Congress. The ERTICO Start-up Initiative seeks to foster connection, innovation and growth among SMEs within Europe’s sustainable mobility ecosystem.
