Each one of us has at least once tried to imagine how the city of the future would look like: flying cars, robot housekeepers and automated transport seemed a farfetched, if not impossible reality to achieve. Of course, as fascinating as they can be, the impact of these new technologies on our daily lives cannot be overlooked. These days, a debated and controversial topic is the one regarding Autonomous Vehicles (AV).
Can a car take decisions instead of a human? Can a vehicle be held responsible in case of an accident? What happens if someone hacks my car and takes control of it? Who is going to pay for the necessary infrastructure adaptations and what will be the impact for taxi and truck drivers?
Some of these questions will be answered in Vienna, during a symposium following-up the TRA Conference 2018, co- organised by the CARTRE and SCOUT initiatives, with the support of the European Commission and the ERTRAC European Technology Platform. The aim of this event is to investigate deeper into specific thematic areas related to the development and deployment of Connected and Automated Driving in Europe. With a panel of high-level speakers from different fields, you will be given an insight on the world of Autonomous Vehicles and will have the chance to share and discuss positions, visions, regarding the numerous challenges and opportunities of the world of automation.
Have your say and learn more about the world of AV. Join us at the Interactive Symposium on Research & Innovation for Connected and Automated Driving in Europe on 19-20 April 2018.
