Project CAPITAL continues its series of webinars with this online workshop on ITS Deployment in the City of Helmond and City of Vigo.

- The concrete and clear benefits of ITS and (possibly) C-ITS services for the citizens and the cities;
- The current needs, challenges and plans for the future.
The webinar will feature the following speakers:
Antonio Vivero (City of Vigo): Manager of the Mobility and Safety Area of Vigo from 2013. He is one of the main promoters of Vigo as living lab for the testing and piloting of new technologies related with connected mobility as well as the deployment of those which has successfully demonstrated its benefits. This activity was awarded by ITS Spain in 2018 with the price of Leader City in Spain in the Deployment of Urban V2I communication.
Gert Blom (City of Helmond): Mr. Blom studied Economic Geography at Nijmegen University (NL). After working for 20 years as a logistics manager and business unit manager for private companies in the automotive and food sectors, Blom changed jobs 15 years ago to start working for the city of Helmond (NL). First as Traffic Department Manager, now as Strategic Advisor Mobility & Coordinator of the international smart mobility projects. Gert Blom was Chair of the National Host Committee for the ITS 2019 European Congress which was held in the Brainport Eindhoven region in June 2019, and Chair of the EIP-NMS WG on intelligent speed assistance ISA.
Jose Manuel Martínez (ESYCSA-ETRA): Industrial Engineer and Master in Automotive Technologies. From 2012 to 2018 worked at CTAG as Project Manager and Pilot Site Leader in different innovation projects on connected mobility within Vigo City and surrounding area focused on Cooperative ITS, eCall and CAD. Compass4D, CO-GISTICS, HeERO2, C-MOBILE and AUTOPILOT are some examples. From 2018 joined ESYCSA – ETRA where, in the position of External Consultant in new Technologies, supports the Mobility and Safety Area of Vigo City Council under the traffic management service provided by such company to the city.
