The „OCC” (Open Charging Station Controller) charging management system developed by the Japanese-headquartered IT services provider NTT DATA was certified today by the German Hubject GmbH for provider-independent charging of electric vehicles. Using NTT DATA’s technology, charging station operators can now easily offer third-party providers the possibility to charge electric vehicles in the European marketplace of Hubject called “intercharge”.
NTT DATA has been heavily involved in the area of emobility and intermodal applications since 2009, offering IT services for electromobility. As a result of the cooperation with Hubject, intercharge eRoaming capabilities were added to the „OCC” charging system. Charging stations managed by „OCC” can thus easily and safely serve customers of third-party providers. Hubject certifies this capability with the „Certified eRoaming System” label. This constitutes a cornerstone toward achieving a simple and user-friendly charging station infrastructure. „There is growing demand from charging station operators throughout Europe for a charging infrastructure that can be easily networked. For us, the cooperation with Hubject represents an ideal basis for a European solution to provider-independent access to charging infrastructure. With just one interface, we can equip our customers with the required technology using a future-safe and affordable solution. This makes charging an electric car as simple as withdrawing money from an ATM”, explains Gerhard Hagenauer, Head of the Integrated Mobility Division at NTT DATA Austria. Hubject Managing Director Andreas Pfeiffer is equally positive about this cooperation: „The operators of charging stations are looking for simple and cost-efficient ways to achieve the greatest possible profitability with their charging infrastructure. In NTT DATA we have found a competent technology partner with whom we want to continue developing and to promote the vision of a networked European charging infrastructure.”
