A free online checklist that helps urban mobility planners monitor the progress of their Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans (SUMPs) has be launched.
The SUMP Self-Assessment Tool, created by the EU-funded CH4LLENGE project, is based on a set of 100 clear and transparent yes-no questions that follow the steps of the SUMP preparation cycle.
By working through the questionnaire during the preparation of a plan, or once a plan has been finalised, planning authorities can gain feedback on the strengths and weaknesses of their approach.
The CH4LLENGE project has also produced an online version of the European Commission’s SUMP Guidelines, and a SUMP Glossary for those unfamiliar with associated terminology.
The resource was launched simultaneously at the EMBARQ 3rd Liveable Cities Symposium in Istanbul (Turkey) and the 2015 Polis Conference in Brussels (Belgium).
