The Report on “the potential of “linking of services” in freight transport & logistics” was conducted under the Austrian Research, Technology and Innovation Programme “Mobility of the Future”. In this context, the AEOLIX Platform was presented as the only solution for system-oriented transport related information exchange.
The aim of this Research and Development study is to survey the current framework conditions in the freight transport and logistics industry for the introduction of the “linking services” concept. Barriers, potentials, non-regulative incentives for the access to data and information as well as new business models for the cooperative use of data and information in the industry are analysed. Based on a Desktop Research, a questionnaire was prepared, and in-depth expert interviews were conducted with relevant stakeholders from the freight transport and logistics industry.
In this context, the AEOLIX Platform is presented as the only solution for system-oriented transport related information exchange.
