ERTICO is excited to announce that Rhoé, a start-up developing software that bridges carbon-neutral forms of energy with emerging technologies in transport, has joined the Partnership. Rhoé started as a sustainable mobility research group and operates today in the field of urban mobility software to accelerate the decarbonisation of the transport industry by making climate sustainability profitable. This new collaboration opens ERTICO’s network to another key player in the Traffic and Transport Industry sectors.
“Bridging the gaps between sectors is an important component of our work at ERTICO, and we are pleased to welcome Rhoé, a small and medium enterprise (SME), as a new member of the Partnership. Their valuable insight and engagement in various projects, including research on making urban transport friendlier and more accessible, will certainly be an added value to ERTICO and our Partners”, says Mr Joost Vantomme, ERTICO CEO. “Together with our Partners, we lead the digitalisation of transport through cutting-edge technologies, services and mobility solutions, and we are very eager to kick-start this new collaboration with Rhoé”.
Rhoé has created its own e-mobility infrastructure optimisation software to assist commercial entities and public authorities in finding the perfect time, spot and price for electric vehicle charging stations. The e-mobility software tool is used in more than 40 cities in Greece, including Thessaloniki and five municipalities in Athens. Rhoé is also active in several consultancy projects around urban space evaluation, public transportation planning, Vehicle-to-grid (V2G) and micro-mobility.
“We are thrilled to be part of the ERTICO Partnership and even as the first Greek technology provider to do so! We trust this newly minted collaboration will supercharge our RD&I activities while providing us with a stage to work with the best of the best of the European ITS industry,” says Mr Theocharis Vlachopanagiotis, CEO and co-founder of Rhoé.
Beyond the dedicated research in e-mobility, Mobility as a Service (MaaS) and Micromobility, Rhoé operates in the Maritime branch to develop the first swappable battery network for electric vessels, called Energy-as-a-Service (EaaS). The core focus is to lead the development of carbon-neutral port infrastructures such as charging, energy storage and operational optimisation of the shipping sector.
Rhoé will also benefit from the opportunities to participate in various ERTICO activities, including European co-funded projects, and knowledge exchange through international cooperation by accessing an extensive network of smart mobility players in different sectors.
