The 3rd IRU/EU Road Transport Conference is set to take place on 16 September 2013. The conference will examine  “The Road Transport Market – Competitiveness & Partnership. Transforming Challenges into Effective Solutions”

Following the success of the previous IRU/EU Road Transport Conferences the Lithuanian Presidency of the Council of the European Union, European Commission and the IRU invite you to join us for the 3rd IRU/EU Road Transport Conference where European institution officials and transport and trade stakeholders from all 27 EU Member States will jointly discuss “The Road Transport Market – Competitiveness & Partnership. Transforming Challenges into Effective Solutions”

Keynote speakers include:

Algirdas Butkevičius, Prime Minister of the Republic of Lithuania
Siim Kallas, EC Vice-President and European Commissioner for Transport
Janusz Lacny, President of the International Road Transport Union

Taking place on 16 September 2013 from 12:00 -18.00 at the Radisson Blu Hotel Lietuva, Vilnius, this conference comes at a vital time when the EU is revisiting its concrete road transport policy actions in the context of the European Commission’s latest analysis of the EU road haulage market against a background of economic recovery, its challenges and opportunities.

We would also like to take this opportunity to invite you to the participants only IRU EU Road Transport Conference Dinner immediately following the conference and taking place from 19:00 – 22:00 in the Old Town Hall, Vilnius.

In addition IRU Projects will be showcasing the European Commission funded eco-driving programme that can save transport operators up to 10% of their fuel costs. The EcoEffect demonstration will take place in Vilnius on 17 September from 09.00 – 13.00 at the Radisson Blu Astorija Hotel.
