Siemens was commissioned to electrify a 39.2-kilometer metro line in the Indian metropolis Ahmedabad. The line is still under construction, but is set to be run in Ahmedabad city.
The German company will also provide supervisory control and data acquisition systems for monitoring and controlling the traction power. Siemens claims that this new metro line will enhance the quality of life of the citizens of the city and the region and foster economic development.
