When the SOLUTIONSplus project was launched in early 2020 with the goal to accelerate transformational change towards sustainable urban mobility through innovative and integrated electric mobility solutions, the project consortium knew that a real sustainable societal transformation had to be coupled with knowledge and capacity building.
Working towards a long-lasting and sustainable transition all around the world, the SOLUTIONSplus consortium’s aim ‘to inspire’ is identified as one of the key pillars of the project. Concretely, SOLUTIONSplus facilitates exchange among city officials, transport operators and entrepreneurs to share their experiences on specific technologies, policy and infrastructure measures, implementation processes, operations, business and financing solutions.
Today, two years after the kick-off of the project, many “inspirational” activities have become a reality through SOLUTIONSplus e-mobility toolbox, SOLUTIONSplus global e-learning program on electric mobility, and, last but not least, top-notch state-of-the-art regional training.
Linked to innovations being tested in SOLUTIONSplus Living Labs all around the world [Europe (Hamburg, Madrid), Asia (Pasig, Hanoi, Kathmandu, Nanjing), Latin America (Quito, Montevideo) and Africa (Kigali, Dar es Salaam)], the training and workshops allow the exchanges of knowledge on relevant topics, and a sharing of experiences of challenges and opportunities. By engaging with partner cities, the regional training allows for a synergistic giving and receiving of knowledge, skills and experience between the SOLUTIONSplus project partners and local-level actors in the region.
Today, the first series of regional training has come to an end, and the knowledge and resources untapped by the SOLUTIONSplus consortium are freely available for everybody. From a specific training on “Regulatory framework for Electric Vehicles”, to a general introduction to ‘E-mobility Charging Infrastructure‘, and a session on ‘Financing, public procurement and business models Public-private procurement‘ delivered by Zeljko Jeftic, ERTICO Deputy Director of Innovation and Deployment, there is surely something interesting for everybody.
