Last 8th of July a Training Session in the use of Galileo and EGNOS technologies (European GNSS) for applications in the industry of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) was organized in Bordeaux within the frame of the Jupiter Project. This session counted with the participation of approximately 40 attendees, including members of companies and institutions such as Navocap (France), IGIK (Poland) and Leicester University (UK), among others, and researchers from different countries.
The session provided an overview on the most relevant aspects of European GNSS and allowed participants to exchange ideas and innovations on how to include it in the development of applications in the ITS sector, through good practices and definitions of tools and concepts. This session had a positive impact in the participants, Philippe Pierre from European Satellite Services Provider (ESSP) mentioned: “Being specialized in aeronautics I had a good feedback in other domains; the session helped in better understand future challenges”.
The activity was hosted by ISMB, GUIDE, Thales Alenia Space and JUPITER consortium members. This Training Session is an important milestone of the project, which aims to raise the awareness on the use of European GNSS technology in the ITS industry.
The training session presentations are available on the JUPITER website.
