The Transport Systems Catapult’s Imovation Centre was transformed into a television studio when the BBC filmed a special episode of its technology programme Click on the premises. Presented by regular Click anchor Spencer Kelly, the show focused on the design of future cities and urban transport issues in particular.
As well as filming all the links for the episode in the Imovation Centre, Kelly gave the viewers a hands-on demonstration of some of the technology on display in centre – including the interactive table-top transport simulator based upon Manchester city centre, and the “Sentiment Mapping” projection which uses social media to track in real time how people are feeling about public transport.
