The JASPERS programme is offering training on Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans  – SUMP – for national and city urban transport planning and mobility representatives.

The interactive and participatory training courses will provide participants with information and best practice on SUMP processes, and introduce existing tools, such as self-assessment tools provided on Eltis.

Specifically, the courses will:

  • explain fully each step in the SUMP process;
  • present a range of best (and worst) practice in the delivery of SUMPs;
  • explain the need for, and benefit of, important aspects of SUMP development (e.g. stakeholder consultation, strategic environmental assessment, policy/project appraisal and prioritisation);
  • provide attendees with the information needed to successfully implement SUMPs in their local context; and
  • be tailored to fit the individual needs of the beneficiary.

Each training course will last 2 working days and will focus on seven different modules.

Interested cities should liaise with their national authorities to express their interest and contact JASPERS.

The JASPERS programme is a partnership between the European Commission, the European Investment Bank and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
