The eCall for trucks pilot will be in Greece, this October. This Demo Tour which has been crossing several European countries is part of the I_HeERO project. It is showcasing the potential of eCall to save lives following traffic accidents involving HGVs (Heavy Goods Vehicles), buses and coaches.

The Greek partners of the project will use this occasion to highlight the results achieved in their region during an event that will be held at the Hellenic Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport facilities in Athens on Tuesday, 24 October 2017.

Participants will have the opportunity to learn about:

  • The road safety benefits of eCall for HGVs and passenger cars
  • The road safety benefits the use of an electronic consignment note (eCMR) can bring to eCall for HGVs by providing information on the transported goods
  • The Ι_HeERO project final achievements and outcomes

The presence of an eCall equipped truck will offer a hands-on demonstration allowing attendees to better understand its functioning in real life and its significant benefits to road safety. The Greek partners will also showcase their achievements regarding eCall for passenger cars and an eCall enabled PSAP (public-safety answering point).

A wide variety of participants from private and public institutions, local authorities, academic and research communities, manufacturers, road transport professionals and end users associations are expected to attend the event.
