ecoDriver has been featured as an example of a successful transport research project in the new video published on the Transport Research and Innovation Portal.
The video, which includes interviews with ecoDriver partner IFSTTAR, highlights greening transport as one of the top priorities of transport research, as a result of the EU objective of reducing 60% greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. It shows examples of how research projects are contributing to getting closer to this target, by reducing the environmental impact of all modes of transport.
The transport research budget of the FP7 programme has been doubled in Horizon 2020. The Commission recognises that transport research has an important role to play in driving technological advances – such as, fuel-efficient vehicles and alternative fuels – as well as in improving safety, advancing logistics and informing environmental policy.
