FOT-Net Data held a workshop during the last ITS European Congress, on Tuesday 17 June 2014 in Helsinki, Finland. The workshop, entitled “Do not let large datasets go to waste!” addressed the possible ways to reuse vast amounts of FOTs data about the interaction between ITS and drivers, vehicles and infrastructure.
Sami Koskinen (VTT), Clement Val (CEESAR), Satu Innamaa (VTT), Jonas Bärgman (SAFER) and Helena Gellerman (SAFER) were in charge of discussing the following questions: What data do Field Operational Test projects have? What will happen with the data? What are obstacles and enablers for data sharing?
The speakers explained also the synergies between the projects FOT-Net Data, euroFOT, DRIVE C2X, SHRP2 and UDRIVE and their key role in optimising data collection, sharing and reuse.
