The SHOW project, the largest Horizon initiative about AVs, hosted its first Ideathon on 15 January. The audience included, amongst more than 50 participants, many of the ERTICO Partners who met to discuss about automated mobility in urban environments, with a particular focus on user’s acceptance. The virtual event has been an occasion to introduce advanced mobility solutions such as door-to-door automated delivery, driverless mass transport, last mile public transport and robotaxis.

Stakeholders have been proactively engaged and contributed to several brainstorming sessions, sharing ideas and best practices. The main objective was to propose transport solutions that would improve safety, sustainability, equity and inclusion, commuting times, while keeping prices affordable. The most interesting ideas have been in-depth analysed to address possible roadblocks to their implementation; the final result includes six solutions, currently being assessed by the project task contributors to be integrated in SHOW work plan.

The SHOW consortium plans to work towards the implementation of these solutions during the Hackatons series foreseen throughout the project’s lifecycle. Users will be engaged in the process through live Focus groups, in which they will be able to express their opinion about the proposed solutions before they are integrated in the live demonstrations around Europe that the SHOW consortium will organise.
