The transport solutions of the future were the theme of the Transport Efficiency Day on 24 August 2017 at Lindholmen in Gothenburg, Sweden, among which blockchain was discussed.

Blockchain, one of the digital innovations that has recently become increasingly popular in shipping, deals briefly with the fact that all those involved in a freight transport must be reached by the same information about the product.

Eusebiu Catana, ERTICO – ITS Europe presented AEOLIX as the future platform working towards the blockchain technology.

“There are so many involved in a goods delivery. Today, information shows that, for example, a product is late late. This would not happen if all were reached by the same information”, Eusebiu Catana said, continuing:

“There are still many challenges in terms of technology, security, different licenses and new business models. But there is so much to gain from collecting all data in a blockchain.”

News on the conference including the AEOLIX presentation were presented in the Swedish newspaper Sjofarts Tidnnigen.
