ERTICO is thrilled to announce that Arriva Group, a leading pan-European public transport provider has joined its Partnership. Arriva’s pan-European operations include all forms of public transportation including local buses (scheduled and demand-responsive), inter-urban commuter coaches, local, regional train services, trams and light rail, and waterbuses, delivering nearly two billion passenger journeys across Europe. This new collaboration opens ERTICO’s network to another important player in the transport sector.
“I am delighted to welcome Arriva, the first public transport operator joining the ERTICO Partnership. As individual mobility demands need adaptation to the future challenges within our cities, it is fundamental to work closer with organisations like Arriva. They play a key role in connecting communities and ensuring access to mobility for all users and by including them in our ongoing activities we can progress even faster in the right direction”, said Jacob Bangsgaard, CEO of ERTICO.
ERTICO and its Partners will be able to gain a high level of knowledge in public transport solutions from ARRIVA during various ERTICO activities. ARRIVA will benefit from access to an extensive network of smart mobility players in different sectors, other transport operators, further project opportunities and international cooperation.
Jana Siber, Arriva’s Managing Director for Europe, commented: “We are looking forward to working together with ERTICO to continue exploring solutions to deliver safer, smarter and more sustainable transport across Europe. Our partnership will further strengthen our close engagement with a number of ERTICO’s members and will enable us to seek new and better ways to deliver excellent services for our clients and our passengers.”
