Atos, an international IT services company, launches the first application of Augmented Reality for the electric car. Developed in partnership with the start-up Diotasoft, the solution has been designed for the sales forces of Blue Solutions, a Bolloré Group subsidiary, as a tool to aid the marketing of Bluecar, the Bolloré electric car, and the expansion of car-sharing services throughout the world.
Augmented Reality superimposes, in real time in a 3D environment, virtual items over real-images, thereby offering the user the possibility to become immersed in a new mixed environment and to transform and improve his/her experience. The Augmented Reality applications are of interest to multiple sectors such as tourism or media, and also increasingly to industry, health, education and research…, as learning, business intelligence or support and maintenance tools, etc.
Serge Amabilé, Sales Director at Blue Solutions: “Developed for a tablet, Atos’ Augmented Reality application enables our future customers to easily observe the specific advantages of Bluecar, its electric battery with its dynamic recharging system, and all the reservation and personalised services which are part of any car sharing service. Our partnership with Atos, started in 2012 when Atos launched the first 100% electric corporate car fleet, which have subsequently been adopted by numerous public and private organisations. This is a new development which is going to help us conquer new customers across the world. “
Steve Peguet, Innovation Director at Atos France: “We are pleased to supply this new state-of-the-art Augmented Reality service to Blue Solutions sales teams today. This technology and its associated applications will progressively revolutionise the perception of our environment and the manner of interaction with it. Inspired by Atos’s Scientific Community, this innovation expresses our constant desire to help our customers to reinforce their performance and to reinvent their growth models.”
Atos has presented the new solution to the public at the launch of Blue Indy, the new car-sharing service in Indianapolis by the Bolloré Group. The solution can already be seen at the Atos Business Technology & Innovation Center (BTIC) on the Bezons campus, and will soon be available at the Bolloré Group’s showroom. The BTIC is a technology lab, a customer services and executive briefing centre, which provides the opportunity to our customers and partners to experiment with and trial solutions that will help them succeed professionally, technologically and organisationally.
