September was a busy month for SOLUTIONSplus. The project participated in several events across Europe and America, including a site visit to Hamburg, the Urban Mobility Days in Brno, and the 28th ITS World Congress in Los Angeles, CA.

Through its active participation in these events, SOLUTIONSplus showcased its innovative, low-carbon e-mobility solutions and invited visitors to learn more about how they will deliver on the Paris Agreement, meet the Sustainable Development Goals and address the New Urban Agenda.

Urban Mobility Days in Brno

ERTICO represented SOLUTIONSplus at the Urban Mobility Days 2022. The event was held from 20 to 22 September in Brno, Czech Republic. SOLUTIONSplus participated with a stand at the exhibition, attended sessions and found out the latest developments from peer projects. The sessions on Urban Vehicle Access Regulations and on Sustainable Urban Mobility Indicators were particularly relevant to the project.

ITS World Congress in Los Angeles

The project also participated in the ITS World Congress from 18 to 22 September in Los Angeles. SOLUTIONSplus had a stand at the ERTICO ‘European Pavilion’, where visitors had the opportunity to learn more about the project’s objectives, its work with start-ups and upcoming training.

The project was also mentioned during the City Moonshot Workshop, which highlighted the importance of collaboration between the cities and other stakeholders, especially the industry. In SOLUTIONSplus, the start-ups work closely with the cities to deploy and develop the right services and solutions for the citizens.

SOLUTIONSplus Hamburg site visit

The SOLUTIONSplus consortium also came together for a visit to Hamburg to see how the city has been deploying e-mobility in practice. Partners were given a guided tour of the Alsterdorf bus depot, seeing how the depot has been adapted to accommodate 90 electric buses with future plans to expand capacity. Standards for charging and how battery life and charging were planned were also covered during the tour. After the depot tour, the SOLUTIONSplus partners were given a ride on an electric bus, a visit to a mobility hub, and a chance to ride out e-scooters to another mobility hub.

After the visit, SOLUTIONSplus held an in-person General Assembly meeting in Potsdam on 15 and 16 September. Presentations gave the latest updates on the rollout of electric vehicle solutions in Europe, Asia, Africa and South America. This was followed by a series of workshops aligned to work packages, key deliverables and regions. The aim of the workshops was to share knowledge and decide in small groups how to maximise learnings from the project and the impact of the SOLUTIONSplus deliverables over the next two years.
